Situation: The large farmhouse's privileged location, its proximity to the sea and quiet countryside environment allows its guests to spend an unforgettable holiday, characterised by relaxation and culture. The local area was once an agricultural centre but these activities have now died down. Many of the buildings still display evidence of the area's agricultural past. The hotel is, in fact, just a few kilometres away from the island of Ortygia and the historic centre of Syracuse, with its striking Greek theatre. The hotel is around a 5-minute walk from local public transport links and approximately a 15-minute drive from the railway and bus stations. The beach at Fanusa and coast at Plemmirio are around a 25- and 15-minute walk from the establishment respectively. The Archaeological Park and the Plemmirio protected marine area are around 5 km and 1.5 km away from the hotel. Catania Airport is approximately 60 km away.

Lodging: Within this environment the hotel's proprietor realised his dream of offering exclusive resort accommodation influenced by the emotions he has felt and experienced. The hotel offers 19 en suite rooms, all different and characterized by unique architecture and design; all are fitted with individually regulated air conditioning and heating, an LCD satellite/cable TV, refrigerated minibar, telephone, safe and wifi Internet access. The room's bathroom includes a shower and bath, and all rooms come with a king-size bed as standard.

Services: The hotel, which was built in 2009, is the result of a masterly and accurate restoration of an ancient complex of buildings. The period of its original construction dates back to the end of the 19th century, when, for agricultural purposes, it was the lodging for landowners and farmers who worked in the surrounding area. The 19-room establishment is air-conditioned, welcoming guests into a lobby with a 24-hour reception and check-out service, hotel safe and currency exchange facilities. Guests can relax in the hotel's TV lounge, bar and restaurant. WLAN Internet access, a laundry service and a car park are all provided at the establishment.

Board: The hotel has been searching for the best typical products ever, including local cheese, fresh seafood and seasonal vegetables, which will transport guests back in time whilst savouring the delicious flavours. A continental breakfast is served, as are lunch and dinner à la carte.

Sports: The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool with children's swimming area. There are table tennis and biking facilities, and for a fee, guests can enjoy diving. There is also a sandy and rocky beach nearby. Golf fans can reach a golf course in Syracuse in approximately 15 minutes by car.

How to arrive: On the road Catania-Siracusa, exit at Siracusa Sud and follow the sign for the road SS155. Guests will then see the sign for Kalaonda which they should follow.
